Citilog, Inc announces Helios Family Product Compatibility

In collaboration with Cohu Electronics, software engineers at Citilog, Inc. confirmed that all of products within Cohu's new Helios Family of products are compatible with its video management system. Citilog is a leading provider of advanced video-based monitoring and surveillance products that enable traffic, security, and safety management operators to identify incidents in real-time. Citilog provides systems and software solutions based on advanced video processing algorithms for the analog and IP video worlds.

Activu Video Management software now supports Cohu Helios system compatibility

Every camera in the Helios family of products (3960HD, 3960SD, 3930HD, 7410HD) is now supported by the Activu video management software. In addition, Cohu's i-linx II encoders/decoders (9900), Translinx encoders/decoders (9920), and .Net cameras (3940/3980) are all fully functional from within the Activu software console. Activu has created a powerful, open and scalable network-based software solution for large scale visualization and collaborative decision making. Cohu iDomes now "plug-compatible" with existing Vicon domes.

Cohu’s 3920 iDome camera, a mainstay of the U.S. ITS market can now be requested in a Vicon “plug-compatible” version. This feature allows the 3920 dome camera to replace Vicon dome cameras in existing installations without the need to purchase and install a new cable. When customers are looking to upgrade to the Cohu iDome camera, they can now avoid most of the costs associated with installing a new camera, including: material cost for cabling, labor costs for cable installation, and associated lane closure expenses. Cohu announces the 3930HD is its next new product offering for 2010.

Available late Q2, the 3930HD will feature a high definition 1280 x 720p resolution sensor at a full 30 frames per second output, an 18x optical zoom, simultaneous analog and IP outputs, H.264 compression with dual stream technology, in a rugged, fixed IP67 outdoor enclosure.

Cohu releases its 2010 Product Catalog.

Cohu has announced the release of its new product catalog for 2010. Featured in the catalog are its latest product offerings, the 3960HD high definition camera system and the 8890 Long Range Surveillance camera on a precise, state-of-the-art positioner. In addition, the catalog previews the company’s 3960SD and 3930SD products that are due for release later in 2010. These products will have a standard definition sensor paired with the latest video compression technology (H.264) in both fixed and pan, tilt, zoom models.

Cohu selected to provide $2.3 million in cameras for the San Fransisco BAVU Project

Cohu Inc. Electronics Division, - Poway Ca. (June 26, 2009): Working with the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) and Caltrans on a joint implementation of the BAVU (Bay Area Video Upgrade) project, Cohu has been awarded a $2.3 million contract for the replacement of 450 cameras and camera controllers throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Selection was based on stringent technical performance specifications and requirements in a competitive bidding process. These cameras are owned by 15 separate agencies located within the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area.
The network of Cohu 3960 series NTCIP enabled cameras and Cohu 9300 series Local Controllers are linked to and monitored by the Caltrans District 4 Regional Transportation Management Center (TMC). The Caltrans District 4 TMC is a regional operations center that boasts one of the most technologically advanced centers in the nation.
MTC, in partnership with Caltrans, had initiated the Bay Area Video Upgrade (BAVU) project to replace 450 antiquated camera sites and upgrade the video surveillance system.
The upgrade will also facilitate the capturing, digitizing and distributing video coverage on the 1,400 miles of State Highway, spanning nine counties. The plan will allow Caltrans as well as local agencies to view the camera video feeds.
Completion of this project will enhance the region’s ability to increasing the efficiency of response to the large volume of well over 2,400 routine roadway incidents per day as well as monitor and detect any security threats to the region's highway system.
The project has been in the planning and testing phases for over 4 years. Republic ITS will complete installation and integration of the 450 cameras by May of 2010.
